About the Clinician
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Keller.
I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner and have been for 15 years. I am a family nurse practitioner, and I have been since 1983. I am also a licensed professional counselor, a psychotherapist since 2003. I have been a certified hypnotherapist from two different organizations for over 30 years. I was a seminar leader for Landmark Worldwide for 3 years. I am nationally certified in my specialties by the ANCC. I’ve been a registered nurse since 1978, over 40 years. I was also a Catholic missionary in Mexico for 10 years and a Peace Core volunteer for 2 years in Honduras.
I only bother to tell you any of this so you will know where I am coming from when I wrote this book. It was essentially a response to my psychiatric patients who came to me in great emotional pain. I had no intention at the time of writing a book at all. I just started giving them handouts to help them address their mental health issues. Over the years, the handouts are now over 100 pages long. And, I still have patients in great emotional pain. I do everything I can. Prescription drugs, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, life coaching, prayer, and I have begun to teach my patients how to hypnotize themselves.
I have discovered that the root of deep emotional pain is usually a subconscious poisonous thought pattern deeply submerged. While I certainly could conduct a hypnosis session myself, it would soon become prohibitively expensive for most of my patients. So, I took my handouts from all of my experiences and all those years and put them in this book. The purpose is for anyone to be able to teach themselves how to access their subconscious mind and their painful thought patterns, and most of all transform them. You have a right to know where I'm coming from, I'm sharing with you "MY Truth." and it’s important that you know I am certainly not here to tell you "The Truth." Ever. I don’t know the absolute truth. I believe there is an "Absolute Truth." I also believe that only the "Absolute Truth" knows the "Absolute Truth."
What you are about to read comes from many eclectic sources:
The title of the book is taken from a small volume written by a new-age Protestant minister named Emmett Fox. It was written in the 1930s and the title is "The Golden Key." This small volume is the preface of my book. What Emmett Fox did was condense the letters of St. Paul, found after the Acts of the Apostles in the Christian Bible.
“The Golden Key” that I wrote as a preface to this book is a condensation of the text written by Emmet Fox. Essentially what you have here is a Readers Digest version of Emmett Fox’s book and his book is a Readers Digest version of the Acts of the Apostles attributed to St. Paul of Taurus. You can find everything in the preface in the letters from St Paul... to the Corinthians, the Ephesians, the Romans, the Thessalonians, etc.... in the acts of the Apostles in the New Testament of the Bible.
For an in-depth understanding of the source of the Golden Key, please READ THOSE LETTERS!
I am not intending to convert anyone to any religion whatsoever. Paul was simply an excellent philosopher of his time and the doctor of The Doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church, the oldest human institution. Regardless of your beliefs or lack thereof, Paul explains in the simplest language I’ve ever found exactly how to live in a way that is both
powerful and happy and in communion with your spiritual self, whatever that is for you.
I have taught this method to every kind of Christian and every kind of Agnostic and Atheist. I have taught this method to many of the people who identify as “Nones”. These are people who do not identify with any particular religious belief at all but have a sense of a spiritual reality for themselves.
As a Christian missionary for 10 years, and a mental health professional for 15, I know this: Without harmony and connection with your spirit, happiness is not possible.
Please feel free to peruse this book for what might be spiritually useful to you. I remain a Roman Catholic. I am also part Buddhist.
I believe religions are for people, people are not for religions. I believe religions are, for the most part, after their founder is no longer present. Human institutions with human frailties. None of them own the Absolute Truth. Period. End. Keep in mind, I’m not right about this or anything else. The only thing I have to give you is the highest truth I know.
I will say this, what I know is based on massive amounts of training and years of experience in healing people of every kind of suffering: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
This book comes from 4 main traditions
- The Christian faith, especially as expressed by St. Paul in the Bible
- The secular distinctions taught by Landmark Worldwide. I trained with them for 10 years and have never in my life found a more fascinating conversation for the transformation and transcendence of the human spirit and species.
- My professional training in the medical field and the psychology field. Including many years of extensive study of all religions, comparatively speaking. I seem to have noticed that they’re all talking about the same phenomenon. The mountain of God. I have great admiration and respect for someone I consider to be a living enlightened master: Eckhart Tolle and I highly recommend his first book entitled The Power of Now.
- I am a mother and a wife and a woman. I am 65 years old. I have accumulated my share of wisdom which came from my share of mistakes. Some really serious mistakes. I would be very grateful to save anyone from having to learn what I have learned the hard way. With that, welcome to my “raison de etre”. My life’s work. If you ever would like to contact me personally about this book, please, feel free to do so directly. My email is [email protected].
